After the gap of eight months the government could find a new Chairman for Public Enterprises Selection Board(PSEB). The ACC has approved the appointment of Ms. Mallika Srinivasan, Chairman & Managing Director, Tractors and Farm Equipment (TAFE) Limited as Chairperson, Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB), for a period of three years , or until the attainment of the age of 65 years, or until further orders, and Sailesh, IAS (AM: 1985), Secretary, Department of Public Enterprises, Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises,has been appointed as Member, PESB. This is for the first time that a private sector specialist has been appointed as the head of the PESB, responsible for appointment of top management posts in the Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs)
The ACC also approved the Capacity Building Commission, under DoPT, and Adil Zainulbhai will be the first Chairman. He is presently working as Chairman, Quality Commission of India. Ramaswami Balasubramaniam has been appointed as Member(HR) while Praveen Pardeshi, a 1985 batch Maharashtra cadre IAS officer, will be Member Administration. Hemang Jani to be the Secretary of the Commission. Zainulbhai is a mechanical Engineer from the 1977 batch of IIT-Bombay and a post-graduate from Harvard Business School. He is currently President of HBS's alumni association in India. He retired from McKinsey India as its chairperson after 34 years
