President Ram Nath Kovind has said that the New Education policy will improve creative skills among youth and give strength to the regional languages. It has recommended to promote research and Scientific education in regional languages which is according to the vision of Mahatma Gandhi and the policy will play important role in making our country Knowledge super power. President was speaking at the centenary celebrations of Harcourt Butler Technical University in Kanpur on Thursday. President Kovind said that Girl students should be encouraged to the go to the field of technical education. Kovind said that Alumni of HBTU can play active role in providing education to needy and poor children. They can also shape future generations. Giving a call to the residents of Kanpur city and its public representatives The President said that they should take a cue from the Indore City in the field of cleanliness and try to keep their city clean so that it should rank in at least first five cities.
A coffee table book, University history book, postal stamp, special cover and commemorative coin photo of centinary celebration HBTU was released on the occasion. President Inaugurated 10 buildings including kulpati awas and different hostels for students at HBTU. Harcourt Butler Technical University (HBTU) is a premier State Technical University. The HBTU was named after Sir Spencer Harcourt Butler, Governor of the United Provinces in British India and is one of the oldest engineering institutes in the country.
