OP Nayyar stepped in place of SD Burman as the latter was not well. Sahir also made way for Majrooh as SD was not there. 

Shammi Kapoor was upset as the producer Nasir Hussain preferred Joy Mukherjee over him.

He wrote the story and also directed this film. It was Nasir Hussain's second production and his first film in colour. The film has 9 songs,
