The winners of the 72nd National Film Awards were announced on Saturday in New Delhi. Yami Gautam wins Best Actress in a Leading Role for the film 'Article 370'.Best Music Director goes to Shashwat Sachdev for composing the music for the Hindi film Article 370. Mammootty and Kartik Aaryan shared the Best Actor in a Leading Role award for their films 'Bramayugam' and 'Chandu Champion' respectively. A member of the Jury Aseem Kumar announced the names of winners.

Rajkumar Periasamy was named Best Director for Amaran. The Tamil film, starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, is based on the life of Ashok Chakra awardee Major Mukund Varadarajan and received widespread acclaim for its storytelling, performances and emotional depth.
The National Film Awards are among India's most prestigious honours in cinema, presented annually by the Government of India to recognise outstanding achievements in filmmaking. The awards celebrate excellence across feature films, non-feature films and writing on cinema.
