In Chhattisgarh, two jawans of District Reserve Guard- DRG were injured in an IED blast on Tuesday. According to Additional Superintendent of Police Neeraj Chandrakar, a team of DRG was on an search operation in Jeevlapadar road at Narayanpur district. During the search operation, an Improvised Explosive Devise- IED planted by Maoists went off. One critically injured jawan is airlifted to capital Raipur for treatment.
-Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh on Tuesday launched the Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch The Rain Campaign- 2022 in an aim to intensify water conservation measures in the identified water-stressed blocks and districts across the State. The State Water Resources Department would be the Nodal Department for carrying out the campaign. As part of the Campaign, Jal Shakti Kendras would be set up in all districts of the State and the kendras would act as knowledge centres for disseminating information related to techniques for water conservation. During the campaign, special focus would be made in mapping of springs and springs shed and its rejuvenation and management. The CM said that the campaign would be taken up in all districts of the State with the theme “Catch the Rain, where it falls, when it falls” and the campaign would be implemented till 30th November, 2022. He also said that there is a need to set up rain water harvesting methods in all Government Offices, Schools and Colleges as the harvested water could be stored and treated for use in the particular area. The Chief Minister also mentioned that water conservation is much related to the Green Manipur Mission of the State Government and would help in maintenance of cleanliness in the State. Therefore, Water Conservation work and Green Manipur Mission should be taken up simultaneously.
-Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday approved 100 crore rupees for one-time benefit scheme for the Anganwadi workers, mini Anganwadi workers and helpers in the state which will be benefited then after termination from their service or death. This fund will be given to the Life Insurance Corporation to distribute a fund under one time benefit scheme. This may result in retirement, resignation, dismissal, or death of Anganwadi workers, mini Anganwadi workers and helpers in the state.
-Parliament has passed the Finance Bill 2022 and Appropriation Bill 2022 with the Rajya Sabha returning them to the Lok Sabha after a detailed discussion. With this, Parliament has completed its Budgetary exercise for the year 2022-23. Replying to the discussion in Rajya Sabha, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stressed that India has continued to remain in the top five FDI recipient countries. She said investors from abroad have trusted the economic judgment of this government. Ms Sitharaman said in the 7 years and 9 months of NDA government, till December last year, the FDI inflows into India has been 500.5 billion dollars. She said it is about 65 percent higher than the FDI inflows during the entire ten-year regime of the UPA.
-Adequate scientific data is required for National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization to make a recommendation on mixing of COVID-19 vaccines. This was stated by Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Dr. Bharti Pawar in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday. She said, Central Drugs Standard Control Organization has granted permissions for conduct of clinical trials for administration of mixed vaccine regimen. She said, Christian Medical College in Vellore to conduct Phase IV study with COVISHIELD and COVAXIN to compare immunogenicity of mixed vaccine regimen. She added, Bharat Biotech for Phase II clinical trial to evaluate the immunogenicity and safety of COVAXIN with Adenoviral Intranasal COVID-19 vaccine.
