Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has said that nobody will be allowed to disturb peaceful atmosphere of the state. He was speaking in Chandigarh on Tuesday after a review meeting following a Grenade attack at Punjab Police Intelligence Headquarters in Sector 77 of Mohali last night. The Chief Minister called Director General of Police V. K. Bhawra who apprised him of the details of the investigation. The DGP visited the Intelligence Headquarters and took stock of the situation. He said that it is suspected that the TNT explosive material was used by a projectile. He said, its impact was on wall and no loss of life and property occurred.
Earlier, the top official said, the Grenade resembles the Grenades used in Pathankot attack six years ago. He said that Police is investigating the case from many angles and information has been shared with Haryana and Chandigarh Police. Police teams are looking into its terrorist connection still no evidence has come to light. Notably, the Punjab Police Intelligence Headquarters falls in a high-security area. A few days ago, some explosives were recovered near Burail Jail and both places are not at a large distance. The security in the area has been stepped up and an alert has been sounded in the state.
