The domestic share market ended on a lower note in a volatile session on Tuesday, amid weakness in heavyweight private banks and elevated crude oil prices.At close, the Sensex was down 238.41 points or 0.31 percent at 77,470.11, and the Nifty was down 50.80 points or 0.21 percent at 24,187.70.
Shriram Finance, Bajaj Finserv, HCL Technologies, Eicher Motors, UltraTech Cement were the top gainers on the Nifty, while losers included HDFC Bank, TCS, Reliance Industries, SBI, Dr Reddy's Lab.On the sectoral front, FMCG, IT, Oil & Gas, PSU Bank down 0.3-0.8%, while auto, metal, realty gain 0.6-1%, according to sources.The broader market outperformed the benchmark indices, with the Nifty Midcap 100 index gaining 0.3% and the Nifty Smallcap 100 index advancing 0.5%.
Rupee Close:
On 21 July'26,the Indian rupee settled 21 paise higher to close at 96.24 against the US dollar on Tuesday, according to agency reports.
