Government has increased the income limit of disabled dependents for family pension.Defence Ministry has taken the decision to enhance the income criteria for grant of family pension to children or siblings suffering from mental or physical disability.Such child or sibling shall be eligible for family pension for life, if their overall income from sources other than family pension remains less than the entitled family pension at ordinary rate.The financial benefit in such cases shall accrue with effect from 8th February 2021. Presently, the disabled child or sibling is eligible for family pension if overall monthly income from sources other than family pension is not more than 9000 rupees along with dearness relief.
-Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar launched ‘Amul Honey- a product of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd. under active cooperation with ‘National Bee Board’.Addressing the launch, Tomar emphasized the importance of National Beekeeping and Honey Mission in increasing the income of small farmers. The Mission is being implemented in the country for doubling income of farmers and beekeepers through beekeeping with the budgetary allocation of 500 crores rupees. Tomar said, there are 86 percent small farmers in the country. In order to increase the income of these small farmers, it is necessary to connect them with other dimensions of agriculture like beekeeping. He said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had expressed his desire for a sweet revolution on the soil of Gujarat and by launching Amul Honey, India has started the journey towards fulfilling the dream of the Prime Minister.
-Many parts of Maharashtra have been witnessing incessant rains since Monday night due to the cyclone storm Gulab. In Marathwada region of Maharashtra heavy rainfall is reported from almost all districts since Monday night. Intense spells of rain is also experienced in Osmanabad, Parbhani, Aurangabad and Jalna. The water capacity in the Jaikwadi dam has gone up to 84 per cent. Incessant rainfall has been experienced in Solapur, Dhule, Buldhana and Washim districts. Thane and Navi Mumbai also reported heavy rains in their respective region since this afternoon. Incidents of water loggings were also reported in many places.
-In Assam, Maoist leader Tingraj Orang on Tuesday surrendered before Additional Director General of Police, Special Branch Hiren Chandra Nath in Guwahati. He is the convener of Assam State Organizing Committee (ASOC) of CPI (Maoist), formed in 2017 in a meeting of Eastern Regional Bureau ( ERB) held in Jharkhand Orissa border. He was General Secretary of Barak and Bramhaputra Valley Zonal Committees of CPI (Maoist) in Assam. He started his association with Left as member of SFI and CPM from 1989-99. He was president of Adivasi Chah Janagoshti Suraksha Committee. Formally joined CPI (Maoist) in 2006 and met Kishan Da (ERB Chief). In 2011 he was arrested in Rourkella, Orissa along with 2 CPI Maoist cadre of Assam- Aditya Bora and Ajoy Sabor.
-Army has said that more than a week long operation against the infiltrators along the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri Sector of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district with the killing of an infiltrator and capturing one alive. The Major General Virendra Vats General Commanding Officer of 19 Infantory Division of Army told media that military operation started in the night of 18th September when a search party observed the movement of infiltrators on LoC. He said the infiltrators were 6 in number. Four among them took advantage of darkness and returned to Pakistan after a firefight while two were holed up in a nallah.He said during the gunbattle, one infiltrator was killed while another was captured alive. Major General Vats further said that the terrorist who has been captured has revealed that he is affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba.
