In Manipur, ahead of the first phase of polls, Chief Minister Nongthombam Biren Singh told the people to go for ethical voting. The Chief Minister was campaigning for BJP candidate at Wangkhem Constituency in Thoubal District on Thursday. Biren Singh further said that the time has now come to choose the right candidate and right party so that the state can witness progress further in all spheres of development. Listing the achievements of BJP-led Government in the state, he said the BJP-led Government has brought peace and stability in the state.
-Chief Minister of Mizoram Zoramthanga, who also holds the finance portfolio, on Thursday presented the state budget for 2022-23 with an outlay of Rs 14,008.15 crore. It is a zero-deficit budget and has not imposed any news taxes. In his budget speech, the Chief Minister mentioned two projects under PM-DevINE for Mizoram that have been allocated in the central budget worth Rs. 600 crore and exuded hope that these projects will go a long way in boosting the state’s economy and securing livelihood for many people. He said that Rs 700 crore has been proposed in this budget for implementation of the state’s flagship scheme, Socio-Economic Development Program (SEDP). He said that at least 60,000 families would be provided with initial financial assistance of about Rs 50,000 per family for sustainable growth under the SEDP.
-The newly-constructed arrival terminal at T1 of the airport in the New Delhi have become operational from Thuesday. The Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), operated by DIAL, has three terminals T1, T2 and T3. Terminal 1 at Delhi Airport is used as a domestic terminal since it is only served by low cost carriers.The state-of-the-art arrival facility received passengers from IndiGo's flight from Goa in the wee hours .The airport has been built as a green building as part of the global Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) green building standards, with a daylight concept incorporated in the overall structure. This new structure will use glass-panels to allow ample sunlight during the day and reduce electricity consumption. The new terminal is expected to handle 40 million passengers per annum.
-Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana has said the city police is engaged in preparing itself in dealing with all kinds of future challenges to emerge in the next ten years. Addressing an annual press conference, Asthana said, Delhi Police has prepared the action plans 2022, 2024, and 2030 in this regard. During the 75 the Raising Day Parade of Delhi Police, Home Minister Amit Shah had asked it to prepare a roadmap to fill up the gaps if any in the next five years in areas including investigation, challenges posed by terrorism and cyber crimes, and where this force stands when it will celebrate its centenary year. Asthana also said, the city police is working with full commitment to provide a safe and secure environment to the citizens. Referring to various initiatives taken towards better policing, the Police Chief said, due to the merger of Police Stations with PCR service, the response time in attending the distress calls has reduced significantly, and now the response time has come down to 4.3 minutes from the earlier time of 7.5 minutes. He said, besides, motor vehicle theft, people can now do online registration of e-FIR for house theft and burglary too.He said, innovative technologies are being used to improve service delivery as well as expeditious disposal of cases related to crimes. Asthana informed that under safe city project, 10 thousand CCTVs cameras will be added in addition to the existing network of more than 15 thousand CCTVs cameras.
-In Gujarat, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the 12th edition of state wide Garib Kalyan Mela from Dahod on Thursday. The purpose of the Mela is to provide direct benefits of various government schemes to the poor. The three-day campaign will be held in 33 districts- 4 metros across the state.Addressing on the occasion, CM Bhupendra Patel said Garib Kalyan Mela has gifted the poor with self-esteem and power. He added that nearly 1 crore 47 lakh needy people have been directly provided with assistance of Rs. 26 thousand crore during the last 11 editions of Garib Kalyan Melas. Patel said Self-reliant India will come true from by providing hand-to-hand benefits to the poor.
