The domestic share market ended on a flat note on Monday, with Nifty near 25,450 as investors remained cautious ahead of the anticipated US-India trade deal update later today.At close, the Sensex was up 9.61 points or 0.01 percent at 83,442.50, and the Nifty was up 0.30 points to close at 25,461.30 Broader indices underperformed the main indices with Nifty Midcap index down 0.27 percent, while smallcap index shed 0.4 percent.HUL, Tata Consumer, Nestle India, Jio Financial and Eicher Motors were the top gainers on the Nifty while losers included Tech Mahindra, Bharat Electronics, UltraTech Cement, ONGC, Eternal.On the sectoral front,FMCG index rose 1.6 percent, oil & gas index gained 0.4 percent, while media index down 1 percent, IT and Metal index down 0.7 percent each.
Rupee Close:
On 7 July'25,the Indian rupee rupee fell by 47 paise to close at 85.87 against the US dollar on Monday amid rising global crude oil prices and a strong American currency.Outflow of foreign funds fuelled by uncertainties over US President Donald Trump's trade tariffs put further pressure on the local unit, according to forex traders.
