Market soars:Sensex gains over 480 points, Nifty above 21,700

The domestic equity markets traded higher on Tuesday tracking Asian peers ahead of the announcement of crucial US inflation data. At close, the Sensex was up 482.70 points or 0.68 percent at 71,555.19, and the Nifty was up 127.20 points or 0.59 percent at 21,743.25. About 1284 shares advanced, 1994 shares declined, and 62 shares unchanged.
Stocks and Sectors
Coal India, UPL, Axis Bank, SBI Life Insurance and ICICI Bank were the top gainers on the Nifty, while losers included Hindalco Industries, Grasim Industries, BPCL, Divis Laboratories and UltraTech Cement.
On the sectoral front, except metal (down 2 percent), all other indices ended in the green with bank, healthcare, Information technology and capital goods up 0.4-1.5 percent.The BSE midcap index added 0.6 percent and the smallcap index rose 0.2 percent.
On 13 Feb'24,the Indian rupee declined marginally to 83.01 against the US dollar in early trade on Tuesday, amid a muted trend in domestic equities.A stronger American currency and elevated crude oil prices also dented sentiments.
Experts Take:
Market experts have recommended six stocks to buy for Tuesday- Jindal Worldwide, Godfrey Phillips, Godrej Properties, Voltas, Wipro, and Dr Reddy's.
