Special Observers of Election Commission has said that injury to Mamta Banerjee in Nandigram was accidental. Their report reportedly ruled out he possibility that the injury was the result of an attack because she was in the midst of heavy police cover at the time of the incident. Special police observer Vivek Dubey and special observer Ajay Nayak inspected the accident site in Bengal's Nandigram before submitting their detailed report to the EC on Saturday.
Earlier,the West Bengal Chief Secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay has said that injury to CM Mamata Banerjee's leg in Nandigram was caused due to the car door, In his report to EC the report does not clearly mention what led to the door slamming on Mamata Banerjee's leg. The report also mentions that a massive crowd had gathered on the road in Nandigram when the incident took place. The CS report was submitted to the EC on Friday.
Meanwhile, after spending two days at the SSKM Hospital in Kolkata, Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee was discharged on Friday evening."The medical board felt she should be in the hospital for 48 hours more for observation. She requested that she should be discharged. Heeding to her request she is being discharged with medical advice," doctors treating her at a hospital in Kolkata said in a statement.
