Eclipse Timing (as per Indian Standard Time)
Beginning: 9:57 PM
Midpoint: 11:41 PM
End (Moksha): 1:27 AM (after midnight of 8 September)
This eclipse is occurring in Aquarius sign (Kumbha Rashi) under the Purva Bhadrapada Nakshatra, due to the conjunction of the Moon and Rahu. It will be visible throughout India.
Scientific Perspective of the Eclipse
A lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth, Sun, and Moon come in a straight line. In this alignment, the shadow of the Earth falls on the Moon, making it appear dark or reddish for some time. When the Moon enters the Earth’s umbra (complete shadow), it is called a Total Lunar Eclipse. On the night of 7/8 September 2025, this eclipse will remain in totality for about 82 minutes.

Why does the Moon appear red?
The Earth’s atmosphere filters sunlight and only the red rays reach the Moon, making it appear as a “Blood Moon” or “Reddish Moon”. Predictions for Zodiac Signs-
Aries: Gain
Taurus: Increase in comfort
Gemini: Loss of respect
Cancer: Possibility of troubles
Leo: Strain in marital life
Virgo: Respect will be gained
Libra: Increase in worry
Scorpio: Mental distress
Sagittarius: Financial/property gain
Capricorn: Chances of loss
Aquarius: Likely harm/loss
Pisces: Indications of loss
Sutak Period
The Sutak period begins 12 hours before the eclipse.
Since the eclipse begins at 9:57 PM, the Sutak will start at 9:57 AM the same day.
