As the deadlock continued over the issue of Special Intensive Revision (SIR), the Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day. The House witnessed two adjournments before being finally adjourned for the day, following the opposition’s demand for discussion over the SIR issue. When the Lok Sabha met after the second adjournment at 2 PM, the opposition members again trooped into the well, raising slogans against the SIR. The Presiding Officer tried to run the House but in vain. He urged the protesting members to allow the House to function. Despite the repeated appeal, the opposition continued with their protest. This led to adjournment of the House for the day. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that the government has repeatedly requested the opposition for smooth functioning and discussion in the House. He said the government will engage with the opposition over their issues.
