The Department of Justice on Tuesday commemorates the milestone of crossing nine lakh beneficiaries under its Tele-Law programme. The programme connects the disadvantaged and needy seeking legal advice from Panel Lawyers through e-interface platform available in Common Service Centres. Law and Justice Ministry said, Tele-Law programme is presently operational in 633 districts, including 115 Aspirational Districts across 34 States and Union Territories through a network of 50 thousand Common Service Centres. Tele-Law saw a surge of 369 per cent growth in number of beneficiaries seeking legal advice during last one year. Speaking on the occasion, Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said, Tele-Law has potential to foster inclusive character of justice delivery and strengthening rule of law. He appreciated the efforts of Department of Justice for collection and compilation of real time stories of the beneficiaries.
-Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has said National Testing Agency will be holding the third session of JEE (Main)-2021 Examination from July 20 to July 25. The fourth session will be held from 27th July to 2nd August. In a virtual address, Mr Pokhriyal said the safety, security and bright future of the students is the highest priority of the government. He said there were some concerns among students regarding JEE (Main)-2021. The Minister said that in order to ensure the safety of the students, a number of arrangements are being made.The number of cities have been increased from 232 to 334. The number of examination centres in every shift will also be increased from 660 to 828. All COVID-19 guidelines and protocols will be followed at all examination centres. The registration process at the examination will also be contactless.The total number of candidates who have already registered earlier for the April session is 6.80 lakh and for the May session is 6.09 lakh. After receiving representations from candidates to reopen the online application window, it has been decided to provided another opportunity to apply for JEE (Main)-2021.
-Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday made an aerial survey of flood affected areas of the state. Mr. Kumar conducted aerial survey of five districts of East Champaran, West Champaran, Sitamarhi and Sheohar. The Chief Minister said, he will undertake aerial survey tomorrow to Darbhanga, Madhubani and Samastipur districts. After aerial survey of the flood affected areas Nitish Kumar said, the state is witnessing flood due to unprecedented heavy downpour before scheduled time of monsoon. The Chief Minister held review meeting with DMs of flood affected districts and instructed them to speed up relief and rescue operations.
-Maharashtra government has decided to fill More than 15,000 posts related to the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) at the earliest.State Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar told the Legislative Council that appointment of remaining members on the MPSC panel will be done by July 31. He also said that the state government is also mulling to increase the number of members on the panel from the current six to 11 or 13 so that the process of interviews is expedited.The issue of delay in conducting MPSC exams and the final interviews echoed in the Upper House against the backdrop of suicide committed by a 24-year-old MPSC aspirant from Pune.Pawar told the House that as per the instructions of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, officials have chalked out a concrete plan to announce MPSC results.
-Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh has said that a Common Eligibility Test, CET for job aspirants will be conducted across the country from early 2022. The Minister said, this initiative was scheduled to take off with the first such test before the end of this year, but is likely to get delayed due to COVID pandemic. Speaking after the launch of e-Book Civil List-2021 of IAS officers, Dr Jitendra Singh said, the Common Entrance Test is a path-breaking reform carried out by Department of Personnel & Training to bring about “Ease of Recruitment” for young job aspirants.He said, it will prove to be a major boon for youth, especially those living in far-flung and remote areas. He added that this landmark reform is also a reflection of Prime Minister’s deep and sensitive concern for the youths and his keenness to provide level playing field and equal opportunity to youth across the country.
