In Jammu and Kashmir, an officer and a jawan of the Indian Army, who were injured in a mine blast near a forward post along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district, died on Saturday. Another soldier was also injured in the incident. Officials sources said an officer and a soldier were killed in action after an army patrol stepped on a landmine near the LoC. Those injured have been shifted to an army hospital where the condition of two is said to be critical."During an area domination patrol in Naushera sector, a mine blast occurred, wherein, two Indian Army soldiers suffered critical injuries and later succumbed to their injuries. Another soldier who received injuries was evacuated and is under treatment," a defence spokesperson in Jammu region said.

The Nowshera sector comes under the Rajouri district which is part of the Pirpanjal region in Jammu where an army operation has been going on for the last three weeks.
