Indian Railways on Thursday announced the restoration of major bed roll facility in trains with immediate effect. Due to which the passengers will get great relief. The Railway Ministry has again decided to provide blankets and bedding to passengers in long distance trains. Railways had stopped giving sheets, pillows and blankets to passengers from March-2020. Passengers were not getting this facility due to Corona epidemic. But now the Railways has announced to implement this service with immediate effect. The Railway Board, in an order issued to the General Managers of all Railway Zones, said that the supply of these items should be resumed with immediate effect.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had assured to restore bed roll facility in Varanasi tour soon. With the introduction of the facility of bed roll, disposal kit will also get rid of. After the closure of this facility in March-2020, disposable bedroll kits were being provided to the passengers by the Railways for a few days. For this, passengers had to pay separately. Which did not prove to be very useful. While the meals and linen service have been restored, concessions for passengers still remain suspended. The major transporter of India has resumed most of its services, which were suspended due to Covid-19 situation , as Covid cases started to decline significantly.
