US President Donald Trump on Saturday announced that India and Pakistan had agreed to a full and immediate ceasefire after tensions between the countries escalated following the Pahalgam terror attack. In a post on TruthSocial he said, After a long night of talks mediated by the United States, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a FULL AND IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE. Congratulations to both Countries on using Common Sense and Great Intelligence. Thank you for your attention to this matter!" Later at a special briefing new New Delhi, Foreign Affair secretary, Vikram Misri announced the cease fire from 1700 hrs from Saturday(Today).

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that India and Pakistan have today worked out an understanding on the stoppage of firing and military action. India has consistently maintained a firm and uncompromising stance against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, he said.
Pakistan's aviation authority has stated that their airspace will be reopened for all flights after they announced a ceasefire with India.Earlier, Pakistan had closed its airspace for all flights from India. Earlier on Saturday, the Indian Air Force struck eight military sites in Pakistan, including radar units and ammunition dumps, in response to the Pakistan military's attacks on Indian military bases and civilian areas.
