The Gujarat based Kaushalya - The Skill University, located in Gandhinagar, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with eight nominated industrial units representing various sectors in the presence of Balvantsinh Rajput, the Skill Development Minister, who expressed his unwavering support for the collaboration.The signing ceremony took place at the university's campus and was attended by eminent dignitaries from the government, academia, and industry.Registrar of Kaushalya-The Skill University H. R. Suthar welcomed the guests.The partnership aims to bridge the existing gap between academia and practical industry applications, empowering students with hands-on experience and enhancing their employability prospects.
On this occasion, Skill Development Minister Balvantsinh Rajput in his address, emphasized that the Gujarat government is committed to keep in mind the needs of the industrial units of the state and to prepare manpower according to their needs. The main objective is to promote skill based education, skill development, reskilling, upskilling and research in Gujarat. In future, Kaushalya-The Skill will contribute to the economic development of Gujarat by fostering a skilled and empowered workforce in collaboration with universities and industries. Also, this strategic collaboration will enable the development of a vibrant skill ecosystem in the state,he added.He further said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has resolved to make India self-reliant through skill development. Moving in the same direction, the state government has established a dedicated institute like Kaushalya-The Skill University. Today various industrial units are associated with this university. By which industries will get required manpower and trainees will be employed quickly.
Dr. Anju Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Labour, Skill Development and Employment, said that the Gujarat government have signed MoU with eight industries to provide training in various fields including solar energy, industry 4.0, manufacturing, jewellery design according to advanced technology. In order to help the youth to develop practical skills and provide brighter opportunities for employment, the Gujarat Government has planned to set up a Mini ITI in collaboration with various Industries Association in GIDC Estate of Gujarat.
