Gurpreet Singh: Good health is a lifestyle choice we need to make

For actor Gurpreet Singh who is currently seen in Vanshaj, there is nothing more important than keeping healthy. While he admits that it can be difficult to keep up with your health needs when you have a packed schedule, he adds that he tries his best to make sure his body has all that it needs to be healthy. “As an actor, I believe that health is not just a conversation but a lifestyle choice that requires consistent effort and dedication. It's understandable that maintaining good health can be challenging amidst busy schedules and temptations, but prioritising it is essential for overall well-being. Personally, I find that integrating small, sustainable changes into daily routines, such as regular exercise and mindful eating, helps in making health goals achievable in the long run,” he says.
Today fitness is all about very strict diet regimes. Talking about them, he says, “Regarding strict diet regimes, it's crucial to strike a balance. While discipline is admirable, overdoing it can indeed lead to adverse effects. My advice would be to approach dieting with moderation and to listen to your body's signals. Opt for a well-rounded, nutrient-rich diet rather than extreme measures that may compromise your health in the long term.”
Gurpreet says that there are three fitness and health mantras that we must never forget. “Three fitness and health tips that I religiously follow include that firstly I prioritise hydration. Drinking plenty of water throughout the day helps in maintaining overall health and supports bodily functions. The second one is that I incorporate regular physical activity. Whether it's hitting the gym, going for a run, or practicing yoga, staying active is key to keeping both the body and mind in top shape. And the third one is that I practice mindfulness. Taking time for mental well-being through practices like meditation or deep breathing exercises can help reduce stress and promote overall balance,’ he says.
Ask him if he also has a fear of ageing, and he says, “As for ageing, while it's a natural process, I choose to embrace it gracefully while focusing on maintaining good health. Rather than fearing the passage of time, I believe in nurturing my body and mind to age healthily and gracefully. After all, age is just a number, and what truly matters is how we feel inside.”
Dance has made me what I am today: Kunwar Amar

Kunwar Amar, who is currently seen in Rajan and Deepa Shahi’s Anupamaa, credits dance for all the success he has achieved in his life. Speaking on the occasion of International Dance Day, which is observed on April 29, he said, “Dance has made me what I am today. It has given me everything that I had asked for and more, and it’s still getting me the kind of work I want to do.” “Dance has been my saviour, my guide, and my life; I cannot thank God enough for him to bless me with such an art form,” he added.
A fabulous dancer that he is, he often treats his fans to dance reels on his social media handle. However, he doesn’t have any particular song that he grooves to. He says it all depends on his mood.Kunwar has not taken any formal training in dance, and revealed, “I have been learning from watching videos. Doing it by myself has taught me a lot, and I think it has become my best ability to just watch the steps and grab them quickly.” And as modest as he can be, he wouldn’t rate his dancing skills, and he confessed, “But I do believe that if I am able to stand among a few names in the dancer community, I must have done some hard work.”
Asked how important it is for an actor to know the art of dancing, he said, “I think it’s an added advantage if you know dancing because Indian cinema is very colorful and we always have dance and music in our films, so it’s good if you know how to dance.”
He also believes that dance sequences have become an important part of any daily soap. He said, “I think dance has been an integral part of our culture, we dance in weddings, do garba in Navratri, Ganesh festivals, holi, and any occasion, so it obviously has an impact in the cinema as well as on the small screen. It brings joy and happiness, and people love to dance to famous dance numbers and copy the steps of their favourite artists.”
Kunwar also mentioned that dance reels have become the most famous source of entertainment for the whole world. However, he added, “I do believe it has decreased the level of creativity and the level of hard work. Just doing a 10-second reel brings you millions of views, and doing a good dance performance hardly gets any reach, so it’s also kind of sad.”
I have always been a night owl, and night shoots are always welcome: Kunal Karan Kapoor

Kunal Karan Kapoor is currently seen as Ranvijay in Sargun Mehta and Ravie Dubey’s show Udaariyaan, which is produced under their banner Dreamiyata Entertainment Private Limited. He confessed that he enjoys doing night shifts and said, “I have always been a night owl, and night shoots are always welcome, but when I see the crew or team members suffer due to consistent night shoots, that affects the general atmosphere of the work environment adversely.”
“However, personally, I have no qualms about shooting through the night,” he added.Well, Kunal is also someone who is good at managing time and indulges in little things that give him pure bliss when he has an off.“I have made peace with the fact that life will always be a shadow play of phases wherein when I’m part of a daily soap, personal life takes a back seat and the focus is always work, and when I’m free from the clutches of hectic schedules, I use that time to do whatever I want, which is to inadvertently travel or read,” he said.“I have simple pleasures like playing video games and watching movies that help prevent burnout during the work phase,” he added.
For Kunal, work is worship, and while he appreciates a healthy work environment, he is not one to complain about petty things.“I have been a child artist, and there is no greater joy that I have known than being on a set under those arc lights. As an adult, I started with a show that was one hour daily almost two decades ago, and we would shoot on a set with no AC and three simultaneous units shooting every day. I have only seen things get better with time,l he said.
“Mindset is everything. If I join a project, my goal is to give my best and try to bring value to the final product. If I don’t like something, I won’t be a part of it, but if I do, I believe it’s my responsibility to play my part to the best of my abilities and try and make it better,” Kunal ended.
