Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya on Saturday reviewed progress of COVID-19 Vaccination with 19 States. He interacted with Principal Secretaries and Mission Directors, National Health Mission of all these States. He exhorted each State to increase their target so that the administration of the last six crore doses for reaching the mark of 100 Crore is achieved in the next few days. Dr. Mandaviya noted that festivals usually synonymous with auspiciousness, joy and large gatherings, if not done in accordance to COVID protocols can derail the containment of COVID-19. He said, the twin pronged solution is to follow COVID protocols very strictly and speeding up of vaccination. He cited results of experiments that pegged the number of 1st dose recipients not developing severe COVID-19 to be 96 per cent.Observing that more than eight crore balance doses are physically available with States, Dr. Mandaviya enquired regarding the specific hurdles, if any, faced by the States in increasing their pace of vaccination. Many States are nearing saturation of coverage in urban areas and are also catering to the floating population in the city.

Nadda has said that Manipur State is the Gateway of East for India's Atma Nirbhar Bharat and the development of Manipur will ultimately bring overall development of the country. Nadda, who arrived Imphal on two days visit to Manipur, while speaking in a public gathering in Bishnupur district on Saturday said, Manipur is regarded as a sacred land from where many freedom fighters took part in INA freedom struggle during Second World War.Earlier governments neglected the North East Region including Manipur but since the BJP led government came into power in the Centre, Manipur has been progressing in many spheres and it will act as Gateway of India's Atma Nirbhar Bharat.
While elaborating the welfare schemes introduced and implemented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi Government, the BJP National President said that Bharatiya Janata Party believed in development, innovation, integration and peace for development. He said that the people of the country has benefited from the schemes implemented by Prime Minister led BJP government also empowered the women.
-In a bid to lower the carbon footprint of the Government buildings in J&K, the Administrative Council, has approved the installation of grid-tied rooftop solar power plants on Government buildings within Jammu city’s municipal limits by the Jammu Smart City Ltd. (JSCL).The project will be completed by March, 2023 at an estimated cost of Rs 53.10 crore, which shall be recovered at the rate of 22 percent annually on account of savings from reduced dependency on externally purchased power. These installed rooftop solar power plants will also be connected with the main power grid on a net metering basis. The Govt. will benefit from the solar generation of approximately 20 million units of energy annually, over the project lifetime of 25 years.
-The Union Government has put in place a quantitative restriction on the export of syringes to boost their domestic availability and uptake. Union Health Ministry said, the restriction applies to just three categories of syringes for three months. These are - 0.5 milliliters and one milliliters auto-disposable syringes, 0.5 ml, one ml, two ml and 3 ml disposable syringes and one ml, two ml and 3 milliliters re-use prevention syringes.The domestic vaccine manufacturers and manufacturers of syringes have played an important and critical role in the effective implementation of World’s largest COVID Vaccination Programme. India has so far administered more than 94 crore vaccine doses and is nearing 100 crore doses administration mark. The Ministry said, syringes are vital to sustain the momentum of the program to vaccinate all eligible citizens in shortest possible time. With a view to ensure adequate availability of the syringes, used to administer the vaccine, the Government of India has enacted this quantitative restriction on the export of syringes.
-In women's cricket, Australia beat India in a Low-scoring thriller in the second T20I by 4 wickets at Carrara Oval in Queensland.
