It was a tense moment in Euro 2020 match Denmark and Finland when the Danish star star Christian Eriksen collapsed on the pitch in Saturday in Copenhagen, causing the suspension of the match in the first half. After around 15 minutes, Eriksen was stretchered off the field, followed by the rest of the Denmark team, while Finland's players also left the pitch. The match eventually resumed at 12:00 am IST with Finland beating Denmark 1-0.
Inter Milan team physician Piero Volpi told The Associated Press that the Italian club was in contact with the Danish football federation. Volpi added that Eriksen never contracted COVID-19, has no medical conditions that he’s aware of and has passed every medical exam without problem since joining Inter in January 2020 from Tottenham.“But we’ll talk about that when the time is right,” Volpi added of Eriksen’s medical history. “Right now, the important thing is that he recovers.”Fans and players from Denmark and Finland were left in tears as the nature of the incident looked scary. Eriksen's family, which was at the Parken Stadium, also rushed to the pitch to check on the Inter Milan midfielder. They were brought to their feet when stadium announcers said Eriksen was stable.
