Rain and snowfall affecting the normal life in Himalayan states. intermittent snowfall and continuous rainfall has been occurring since Tuesday night in the plains and mid-hill regions of the Himachal Pradesh. At popular tourist destinations such as Manali, Atal Tunnel Rohtang, Kufri, Narkanda, and Khadapathar, light and intermittent snowfall has been reported since Wednesday morning.

In the tribal district of Lahaul-Spiti, snowfall has led to the closure of 26 roads, including several major routes, for vehicular movement. Considering the prevailing weather conditions, the district administration has advised local residents, especially tourists, to avoid unnecessary travel. In Kinnaur district, light snowfall has also been reported on higher peaks since last night. Widespread rainfall in Sirmaur district has raised concerns among wheat and strawberry growers.
Erratic weather conditions continued to affect Jammu & Kashmir on Wednesday, bringing widespread rain, snowfall in higher reaches, and triggering a major landslide that blocked the vital Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44), leaving thousands of traveller's stranded. A major landslide struck the Shalgadi area in Banihal, forcing the closure of NH-44.The weather is expected to remain unstable until April 10, with brief spells of light rain and thunder showers forecast at scattered places, particularly during afternoon and evening hours.Higher altitude areas, including Gulmarg in north Kashmir, as well as Kupwara and Bandipora districts, received fresh snowfall during the day. Srinagar and other parts of the plains witnessed rainfall, the Met said.
The weather in Uttarakhand has changed once again. From the high Himalayan shrines to the plains, continuous rain and snowfall have brought severe cold back in April. Light to moderate snowfall was recorded at Kedarnath and Badrinath shrines, while lower regions reported rain and hailstorms. The cold winds have made people feel winter-like chill in April, an unusual occurrence for this time of year.
