The Delhi government has announced that all schools, colleges, universities, and educational institutes will reopen from Monday.It has disallowed unvaccinated teachers from returning to work.The decision was taken by Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA). However, classes for Nursery to class eight will be reopened from 14th of this month. Briefing reporters in New Delhi on Thursday, after the DDMA meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said, the decision was taken in view of the declining of Covid -19 cases in the national capital. He said, higher education will be completely in physical mode.
All government and private offices in the national capital have been permitted to function at hundred percent capacity. Sisodia said, the timing of the night curfew in Delhi will now be 11 PM instead of 10 PM. All restaurants can now open till 11 pm. Sisodia said, Gym and swimming pools will also be reopened from Monday. The DDMA said drivers of cars will be exempted from wearing masks if they are travelling alone. A large number of students in the 15-18 age group have also been vaccinated.Chamber of Trade and Industry chairman Brijesh Goyal welcomed the DDMA’s move to ease the curbs. “The DDMA has made the right move. It should also have lifted the night curfew so that the business establishments get more time for operations. It is a good move to allow gyms to reopen because thousands of workers associated with these establishments are facing unemployment.”
The Rajasthan government also eased restrictions in place to combat the latest spread of the coronavirus disease . With the pandemic crisis easing, the Ashok Gehlot-led government lifted the night curfew and gave its permission for attendance up to 250 people at private and public gatherings. Earlier, a maximum 100 people were allowed to attend such events like weddings. The revised rules will come into effect from February 5. As part of the fresh guidelines, religious places have been allowed to function as per their regular schedule and offerings by devotees will be allowed.
