A Leh-bound SpiceJet flight carrying around 150 passengers was forced to return to the national capital on Tuesday morning after reporting a mid-air engine issue, prompting swift precautionary action by the crew.The Boeing 737 aircraft operating as flight SG121 from Delhi to Leh returned to the national capital as a precautionary measure, landing safely at Indira Gandhi International Airport with no injuries reported. All passengers were disembarked normally, the airline confirmed.
According to sources, the flight turned back following a malfunction in engine number 2, though there was no fire warning in the cockpit, underscoring that the situation did not escalate into a more serious emergency.A SpiceJet spokesperson reiterated that the aircraft experienced a technical issue, but said the landing was safe and orderly.
