Union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya has said that 78 per cent of India's eligible population has been administered the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine while 35 per cent is fully vaccinated after receiving both shots. In a tweet on Monday, he described it as an extraordinary feat and said India is rapidly progressing on the “path to defeat the virus”.

Meanwhile, India registered 12,514 fresh Covid-19 cases in 24 hours on Sunday, taking the total case tally to 3,42,85,814. The nation reported 251 Covid deaths in 24 hours on Sunday, taking the total Covid toll in India to 4,58,437.
