The government on Wednesday said 44,684 Kashmiri Migrant families have migrated from Kashmir Valley due to insurgency and other reasons since 1990. Total over 1,54,700 persons have migrated so far from valley. Replying to written questions in the Rajya Sabha, minister of state Home affairs Nityanand Rai said since 2019, over 1,40,800 new works and projects have been initiated in Jammu and Kashmir and 70,550 have been taken up under various sectors in Ladakh. Mr Rai said 27,270 crore rupees have been provided for completion of these works and projects in Jammu and Kashmir and 3,097 crore rupees have been given for Ladakh.

-A Janata Dal (U) candidate filed his nomination paper from Sekmai (ST) assembly constituencies in Manipur on Wednesday. Khwairakpam Devendro from Awang Sekmai Makha Leikai filed his nomination paper on the JD (U) ticket for the upcoming polls He has become the first candidate in Manipur who has filed nomination after the election notification was issued on Tuesday. In the first phase, polls will be held for 38 assembly constituencies. Meanwhile, the Congress party has announced another list of four candidates for Manipur elections. Kejriwal said that these legal affidavits will be distributed to voters and Goans to sue the candidates in case they breach their trust. Arvind Kejriwal said for the last two elections, we are seeing that one may be contesting on any party but they join BJP later. He said all AAP candidates today signed an affidavit in which they are taking a vow that if elected, they will work honestly, they won't take bribe, they won't do corruption and second that they won't leave AAP to join other parties.
-Chhattisgarh has become the 35th State and Union Territories to implement One Nation One Ration Card. The migrant National Food Security Act, NFSA beneficiaries of Chhattisgarh will now be able to take the benefit of subsidised foodgrains at any Fair Price Shop across the country. Consumer Affairs Ministry said, One Nation One Ration Card, ONORC has now covering 96.8 per cent NFSA population across 35 States and UTs. The Ministry said, since the inception of the ONORC plan in August 2019, more than 56 crore portability transactions have been recorded so far in the States and UTs delivering nearly one hundred lakh tonnes foodgrains.
