The National Crisis Management Committee NCMC under the Chairmanship of Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba on Saturday reviewed the preparedness of Central Ministries, Agencies and State Governments to deal with the situation arising out of a Cyclonic storm developing in the Bay of Bengal. Director General, India Meteorological Department IMD briefed the Committee about the current status of the Deep Depression in the Bay of Bengal, which is likely to develop into a cyclonic storm by Saturday evening.It is expected to cross the north Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha coasts by Sunday evening, with wind speeds ranging from 75 to 85 kilometres per hour, gusting to 95 kilometres per hour, accompanied by heavy rainfall in the coastal districts of the states.It is likely to affect the districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Vishakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh and Ganjam and Gajapati in Odisha. Chief Secretaries of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh apprised the Committee of the preparatory measures being undertaken to protect the population in the expected path of the cyclonic storm as also measures being taken to ensure that there is minimal damage to infrastructure such as telecom and power and other infrastructure in the aftermath of the cyclonic storm. Necessary arrangements have been made to ensure that Covid protocols are followed.NDRF has deployed 18 teams in these states and additional teams are also kept in readiness. Rescue and relief teams of the Army and Navy along with ships and aircrafts have also been deployed.
-The Meteorological Department has forecast strong winds and bad weather along the Kerala-Lakshadweep coast and in the south-eastern Arabian Sea regions on September 26 and 27.Strong winds are likely to be witnessed in the southwestern Bay of Bengal, Kanyakumari coast and the Gulf of Mannar.The Disaster Management Authority has warned fishermen not to venture out into the sea for fishing on these days. Moreover, The Meteorological Department has forecast isolated spells of rain showers in Kerala till the 29th of this month. Heavy rains will continue in Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki and Palakkad districts.Meanwhile, a yellow alert has been declared in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki and Palakkad districts for Sunday.

He said through an Act it was made possible to provide equal wages to men and women engaged in same job.Yadav said for occupational safety of workers, the occupational safety code has been brought by the government.The Minister said, if a worker is provided social security, then his mental health is in good condition.He stressed that it is the duty of the government and society as a whole to see that a person from weaker section gets his share of social security.He said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi says that his government is dedicated for the welfare of poor, and as a reason the comprehensive social security code brought by the Centre realises the dream of the PM. He said workers from unorganised sectors should register themselves which would eventually help government to know that how many type of workers are employed in different trades.

-Union Information & Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur inaugurated high power transmitters at one of the highest Radio Stations in the world at Humbatingla in Kargil Ladakh. The Minister inaugurated Two - 10kW High Power Transmitters of All India Radio FM radio station and Doordarshan at an altitude of 13 thousand 300 feet from mean sea level at Humbatingla in Batalik of Kargil. Transmitters would improve the transmission and the reach in the region especially in the region.Speaking on the occasion, Anurag Thakur said opening the services of two transmitters of AIR and DD together, is a milestone moment for the public broadcaster in the region. He said the new transmitters would counter the neighbor's propaganda and reach the right information to the public. Minister also complimented the services of All India Radio in taking the government schemes and programmes to the remotest places of Ladakh region.
