Candidates for seven Rajya Sabha seats elected

The National Commission for Women (NCW) has launched Country-Wide Training and  Capacity Building Program For Women In Dairy Farming. NCW is collaborating with Agricultural Universities Across India to train women associated with Dairy Farming and  Allied activities.NCW aims to help women farmers and SHGs through scientific training and practical ideas to effectively conduct extension activities in dairy farming sector. Launching the first project women SHG groups at Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences in  Hisar in  Haryana, NCW Chairperson Rekha Sharma said that financial independence is key to women empowerment. Ms Sharma said this will empower rural women and make them financially independent. She said, the National Commission for Women has been working to help women reach their full potential.

-Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Dairy Dr. L. Murugan was on Monday elected unopposed to the lone Rajya Sabha seat from Madhya Pradesh.Congress nominee Rajani Patil was announced elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha seat from Maharashtra after BJP candidate, Sanjay Upadhyay withdrew his nomination.The by-poll was necessitated following the untimely demise of Congress MP Rajeev Satav.In Tamilnadu, Two DMK candidates Dr. Kanimozhi N.V.N.Somu and K.R.N.Rajeshkumar have been declared elected to the Rajya Sabha.Trinamool Congress candidate Sushmita Dev has been elected unopposed to Rajya Sabha. Union minister and former Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has been elected to the Rajya Sabha from Assam unopposed. In Puducherry, the BJP Candidate for the lone Rajya Sabha Seat Mr. S. Selvaganabathy, was today elected unopposed.

-In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, alert troops of Border Security Force (BSF) on Monday seized huge cache of arm ammunitions and fake currency along the international border in Akhnoor sector of Jammu division. Acting on a specific input, a search operation was conducted near International Border in Akhnoor area and during search operations, a bag was found hidden in thick Sarkanda grass containing, four pistols, eight magazines, 190 rounds of 7.63 x 25 MM Pistol and one packet containing narcotics weighing one kg with fake currency notes worth Rs. 2,75,000/. A BSF spokesman said that this consignment was likely to be delivered to  anti national elements of the area, but BSF foiled their attempt by seizing it.

-Foreign investors pumped in nearly 22,000 crore rupees into the Indian capital market so far in September. According to the depositories data, foreign portfolio investors, or FPIs, invested 13,536 crore rupees into equities and 8,339 crore rupees in the debt segment. This resulted into a net investment of 21,875 crore rupees in the India capital markets between the September 1 and September 24 period.Foreign investors had pumped in 16,459 crore rupees last month.

-India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 86 Crore today. The Health Ministry said, more than 86 crore 93 lakh 79 thousand 970 doses have been administered till now. It said, more than 88 lakh 98 thousand Vaccine Doses have been administered on Monday.
