Both houses of Parliament continue to face disruptions

Both the houses of Parliament continued to face disruptions over Pegasus snooping, farm laws and other issues for the fifth consecutive day on Monday. The Lok Sabha has been adjourned for the day while the Rajya Sabha till 4 P.M. At 3 P.M., when the Lok Sabha met after fourth adjournment, Opposition members including Congress, TMC and DMK again came to well protesting over these issues. Amid ruckus the house passed the Factoring Regulation (Amendment) Bill, 2021 and the National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management Bill, 2021 without discussion. The Presiding Officer repeatedly urged the agitating members to allow the house to function, but they continued their protest which forced the adjournment of the house for the day. 
Earlier, the Lower House witnessed four adjournments. In the morning too, members from Congress, DMK, TMC, Akali Dal and other parties disrupted the proceedings. Amid noisy scenes, Speaker Om Birla tried to run the Question Hour. The Speaker repeatedly urged protesting members to return to their seats and let the house function. He said, the government is ready to reply the issues being raised by Opposition members. But, Opposition members continued their protest. The Rajya Sabha also witnessed similar scenes. When the house met after third adjournment at 3 P.M., Opposition members including Congress, TMC and Left again came to the well raising slogans against the government over Pegasus snooping, farm laws and other issues. The MPs from SP, NCP, RJD, Shivsena and others were on their feet. Amid uproar, the Deputy Chairman tried to take up discussion on the Marine Aids to Navigation Bill, 2021. As the ruckus continued the house was adjourned till 4 P.M. At 12 noon, amid ruckus, the Deputy Chairman tried to run Question Hour. He repeatedly asked order in the house, but protesting members did not pay heed. Members from Congress, TMC, Left, DMK and Aam Aadmi Party were in the well raising slogans against the government.

In the morning, Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu rejected the adjournment motions moved by the Opposition members on Pegasus snooping, farm laws and other issues. After that the members from Congress, TMC, Left and others trooped into the well raising slogans. The Chairman expressed displeasure over the continuous disruption of the proceedings in the house saying important issues could not be discussed due to disruptions. He expressed concern over about 90 members being denied opportunities to raise issues of public importance even after their notices were admitted. The Chairman observed as many as 57 matters of 63 members were permitted. However, none could be raised due to disruption of proceedings.
