In Gujarat, multiple schools in Ahmedabad received a fresh bomb threat via email on Wednesday prompting immediate action from authorities. Police teams were deployed at the respective schools following the threat, said Sharad Singhal, Joint Police Commissioner, Ahmedabad Crime Branch. The schools were evacuated as a precaution to conduct thorough checks to ensure the safety of students and staff. Meanwhile, local police, Special Operations Group (SOG), the Bomb Detection Squad (BDS), and the Crime Branch reached the school premises and launched a probe to track down the sender. DCP Zone 1, Dr Harshad Patel says, “Nearly 10 schools in Ahmedabad received bomb threat mails, under which, the senior officers of city police, local police station incharge and other teams are investigating various schools... Suspicious material has not been found yet in any of the schools.

Ahmedabad’s Zydus School of Excellence, Mahara Agrasen Vidyalaya DAV International School, Zebar School for Children, Nirman School, Divine Child School, Gems Genesis International, Avishkar School, and Ahmedabad International School received a bomb scare through email this morning, according to reports. The bomb threat email reads, “We will take revenge.” Following the threat, parents were immediately informed to take their children home. “This is to inform you that due to some inconvenience, we have to vacate the Vidhyalaya premises. We request you to collect your child as soon as possible,” the notice stated.

Authorities said investigations are ongoing and security has been tightened across sensitive locations in the city.
