In West Bengal, Five BJP MLAs including Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari, were suspended by assembly Speaker Biman Bandyopadhyay on Monday for their alleged unruly conduct in the House. The suspensions were awarded after chaos ensued in the West Bengal Assembly, following demands by the Opposition to discuss the Birbhum violence. In a video shared on social media by BJP leaders, including its IT cell chief Amit Malviya and spokesperson Shehzad Jai Hind, several MLAs are seen locked in a scuffle on the floor of the House as marshals and police officers struggle to stop the fight.

"The Opposition had demanded a discussion over law and order and the government declined. The BJP alleged that the TMC brought Kolkata Police personnel in civil dress to fight with its MLAs. Adhikari told the media. The BJP, seeking the centre’s intervention, has organised a protest. “I'll write my complaint to the Speaker, demanding action as per the rules,” said Suvendu Adhikari.Trinamool MLA Asit Majumdar, who suffered a nose injury in the fight and was rushed to the hospital, alleged that the Leader of Opposition, BJP's Suvendu Adhikari, punched him.
