Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan has said that the Ayushman Bharat programme has completely revolutionized primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare systems in the country, with a strong focus on preventive healthcare. Chairing an event to mark the Universal Health Coverage Day, he said, through the two wings of Ayushman Bharat - the Health and Wellness Centres and the Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana, the government has been making quality healthcare affordable and accessible for crores of people in the country. He said, that over one crore 45 lakh cashless treatments have been provided to the poorest citizens under Ayushman Bharat, The Minister also released the 5th National Family Health Survey (NFHS) which contains detailed information on population, health, and nutrition for India and its States and Union Territories.
-Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has urged all business leaders and intellectuals associated with FICCI to talk about the benefits of the farm laws, as these laws are for the benefit of all farmers across the country. Addressing FICCI’s annual convention in New Delhi, Mr Goyal said, these laws without changing the past systems will open up new opportunities to do trade, commerce and business for the farmers. He said, this will also bring more investment in rural India and increase farmers’ income.
-Gujarat Government has made online registration compulsory for holding wedding functions in the State. National Informatics Center has created a software for online registration for organizing marriage functions which has been activated on Digital Gujarat Portal. After witnessing large scale wedding functions in the State recently, Gujarat government has decided to give online permission for holding such marriage functions. According to official sources, online registration on www.digitalgujarat.gov.in is compulsory for holding any marriage function in the State. After applying online, applicants will need to take a printout of the registration slip or save it as a PDF file. If police or someone from local administration seek, an applicant will need to produce such a printout or PDF file. This decision has been taken in view of the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic situation. As per the COVID-19 guidelines, the maximum 100 persons are allowed in marriage functions or wedding reception.
-325 cadets, who passed out the IMA on Saturday in Dehradun, are ready to join the Indian Army. After the final step the cadets became an integral part of the armed forces. 70 cadets from the nine friendly countries also passed out from the portals of IMA.Vice Chief of army staff LT. Gen SK Saini, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, VSM, ADC was present as the Reviewing Officer of the Parade. The entire ceremony was conducted with due COVID precautions. While being conducted in a scaled down backdrop on account COVID, the Passing Out Parade retained ceremonial grandeur and regalia symbolic of this once in a lifetime moment for the proud Gentlemen Cadets.
-Uttarakhand is in the grip of a coldwave after the fresh spell of snowfall and rain on Saturday. Almost all the districts received light rainfall whereas mountain peaks in the higher Himalayan altitudes in Garhwal and Kumaon regions were covered with snow. Snowfall occurred in Chardham, Hemkund Sahib, Auli, Roopkund, Rudranath, Harshil, Sukki Top, Dhanolti, and other regions. According to the meteorological department, dense to very dense fog is likely to occur in some parts of the plain areas in the State from Sunday.
-The Citizenship Amendment Act will be implemented in West Bengal soon, BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya Saturday said. Talking to Reporters in the 24 Parganas distriact, he did not say anything on the contentious National Register of Citizens. "Even if the West Bengal government opposes the implementation of CAA we (Centre) will go ahead in implementing it. If the state supports the implementation it will be fine," he said. Matuas, who have a sizeable population in the state, are lower caste Hindu refugees who migrated to West Bengal from neighbouring Bangladesh (erstwhile East Pakistan) during Partition and in the subsequent decades. Permanent citizenship has remained a longstanding demand within the Matua community.
