Auction for 5G spectrum likely in April-May 2022: Ashwini Vaishnaw

Union Health Ministry has issued a new list of guidelines for international arrivals. These guidelines will be valid with effect from Friday till further orders. All travellers will have to submit self-declaration form on the online Air Suvidha portal (www.newdelhiairport.in) before the scheduled travel. They should upload a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR report and the test should have been conducted within 72 hours  prior to undertaking the journey. The guidelines say each passenger shall also submit a declaration with respect to authenticity of the report and will be liable for criminal prosecution, if found otherwise. Airlines to allow boarding by only those passengers who have filled in the Self- Declaration Form on the Air Suvidha portal and uploaded the negative RT-PCR test report. At the time of boarding the flight, only asymptomatic travellers will be allowed to board after thermal screening. On arrival, if the passengers are found to be symptomatic during screening shall be immediately isolated and taken to medical facility as per health protocol and if tested positive, their contacts shall be identified and managed as per laid down protocol.

-The Union Government expects to auction 5G spectrum by April or May next year, the Communications, IT and Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Wednesday. Speaking at the Times Now Summit-2021, the Minister said, currently the telecom regulator is working on it and once they send their recommendations, the auctions will begin. The Minister added that the Department of Telecommunications expects the telecom regulator to send its recommendations by February end or beginning of March next year.The Minister also said, the full potential of the reforms, which have been announced and the next wave of reforms, will be realised in the next two to three years.

-The Indian Air Force (IAF) contingent will take part in the biennial Dubai Air Show to be held at the Al Maktoum International Airport from 14th to 18th of November. The IAF has been invited by the Government of UAE to participate with the Sarang and Suryakiran Aerobatic Teams. These teams will be performing along with some of the best aerobatics and display teams in the world, including the Saudi Hawks, Russian Knights and the UAE’s Al Fursan. In addition, the IAF’s Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas shall be part of the aerobatics and static displays during the show. In Grand Prix in UAE in 2005, the Dubai Air Show will be the first occasion for the Suryakirans and the Tejas to show off their swashbuckling aerial manoeuvres.

-The idol of Goddess Annapurna which was retrieved from Canada on Thursday handed over to the UP government for installation and  Pranaprathista at Kashi Vishwanath in Varanasi. It has begun its journey to the Kashi Vishwanath temple.  Earlier, Union Culture Minister G Kishan Reddy and other Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Hardeep Puri performed puja to Annapurna Devi Murti at the National Gallery of Modern Art in New Delhi. 

-National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited -NHSRCL on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the Designs of High Speed Rail -HSR Track works for T-3 package for Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor Project. The MoU has been signed with Japan Railway Track Consultant Company Limited - JRTC. Under this MoU, JRTC will provide the detailed design and drawings of HSR track components like RC Track bed, Track slab arrangement and Continuous Welded Rail CWR for 116-kilometre long T-3 package between Vadodara and Sabarmati Depot and Workshop in Gujarat.Speaking on the occasion, Project Director of NHSRCL Rajendra Prasad said that the JRTC is the only specialized agency for this kind of highly technical work which will help in finalizing track designs quickly. Earlier, NHSRCL had earlier signed MoU for the designs of HSR track and track works for the 237-kilometre long T-2 package between Vadodara and Vapi in Gujarat.
