Assam orders enquiry into death of two persons during eviction drive

Union Minister of Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan has said that the double engine government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in the state is propelling Uttar Pradesh on the path of development. He said, Uttar Pradesh is scaling new heights and is amongst the top performers in the country in the development indices. The Union Minister and the Election-in-Charge of BJP for Uttar Pradesh was in Siddharthnagar on Thursday. Pradhan further said, the government is giving utmost importance to the development of Eastern Uttar Pradesh. He said, the construction of Shri Ram Temple is going on at full pace in Ayodhya. He also said that Siddharthanagar would soon get its own Medical College.  During his visit, the Union Minister inaugurated the new building of Kendriya Vidyalaya and also participated in a programme organised under the National Nutrition Month.

-Assam government has ordered an enquiry into the death of two persons and injury of several during an eviction drive at Dholpur in Darrang district. Official sources said, enquiry will be conducted under the chairmanship of a retired judge of the Gauhati high court.
Two persons were killed and several injured including cops during an eviction drive. Police had to take action when protesters attacked cops. One seriously injures policeman was sent to Gauhati medical college and Hospital. Meanwhile, the ruling BJP told opposition parties not to instigate people to take law into their own hands.

-In Jammu and Kashmir, the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off a Cycle Rally of Central Reserve Police Force personnel from Jammu to Raj Ghat, New Delhi as part of the ongoing Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations. Speaking on this occasion, the LG said that this Cycle Rally is not only a physical exercise, but it will propagate the cultural, religious and historical ideas of public enroute from all corners of the nation. CRPF is organising four cycle rallies from different parts of the country including Jammu, Jorhat in Assam, Kanya Kumari in Tamil Nadu and Sabramati Ashram in Gujarat. All the four cycle rallies will meet at Rajghat in Delhi on 2nd of October and will assimilate the ideas of different parts of the country.

-Union Minister of State for Panchayati Raj Kapil Patil on Thursday emphasised on information dissemination of different Gram Panchayat Schemes to the grassroot level. He was addressing at the National-Level Orientation Workshop on People’s Plan Campaign ‘Sabki Yojana, Sabka Vikas’ for North Eastern States in Guwahati. The Minister said that the Centre has prepared guidelines for development of rural areas and lack of information about the Panchayati Raj schemes is the main hindrance for development. Gram Panchyat is working for the welfare of rural people and most of them are not aware about the welfare schemes, he added. Patil said that we need to take all information about Panchayat schemes to the rural people and proper information would also eliminate corrupt practices, if any. He further said, the Panchayati Raj Ministry is implementing the People’s Plan Campaign since three years and from 2nd October 2020 to 31st January 2021 around 4,000 Block Panchayat Development Plans and around 300 District Panchayat Development Plans with almost 1.56 lakh Gram Panchayat Development Plans were prepared.

-India’s flagship health programme, Ayushman Bharat – the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana has completed three year. Around two crore 20 lakh people have been benefited under the scheme launched on this day in 2018 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is the world’s largest health care programme provides a health cover of five lakh rupees annually to vulnerable families and aims at benefiting more than ten crore poor families across the country.Talking exclusively to All India Radio, National Health Authority Chief Executive Officer Dr. R.S. Sharma said, in the three years of its launch, the scheme has contributed significantly to address the challenge of equitable access to in-patient healthcare for the poor. He said barring West Bengal, Odisha and Delhi, 33 states and Union territories are implementing the scheme.
