Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that ideology-driven governance under the BJP had transformed states which once considered backward, including Chhattisgarh. Speaking at a function in Raipur, Shah on Sunday said, Chhattisgarh achieved 7.5 per cent growth rate, with agriculture growing by 17 per cent, industry by 48 per cent, and the services sector by 35 per cent. He said, recently the President of the European Union said, when India is stable, the entire world becomes secure and stable. He added that the three words: security, prosperity and stability coincide with the theme of conclave.

During his day long visit to Chhattisgarh, the Home Minister held two high-level meetings in Raipur to review anti-Naxal operations and various development works. Shah said, once a stronghold of Naxal violence, Chhattisgarh has now become a symbol of development under the BJP’s double-engine government. He added, the youth of the state are moving ahead by promoting sports, forensic and technical education, while also preserving their culture and traditions. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, senior officials of the police administration and Central security agencies attended the meetings.
