Both the houses of Parliament on Monday continued to witness pandemonium over Pegasus snooping and farm laws before being adjourned for the day. Amid ruckus, the Presiding Officer tried to take up matters of urgent importance. As the Opposition members continued their protest, the house was adjourned till 3.30 P.M. Earlier, the Tribunals Reforms Bill, 2021 was introduced in the house amidst din. The House also passed a Bill to amend the country’s general insurance law and allow the government to offload its stake in state-run insurance corporations. The General Insurance Business (Nationalisation) Amendment Bill, 2021 seeks to permit the government to cut its stake in prominent state-owned general insurance corporations, such as the LIC, helping achieve its divestment targets. Divestment refers to the government’s selling of part of its ownership in state-run corporations.

But, the members continued their sloganeering by showing placards.
