All ministers in the Ashok Gehlot led Rajasthan government submitted their resignation to the chief minister on Saturday. The resignation comes after a meeting of the Rajasthan council of ministers was held at Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s residence in Jaipur in the evening. According to information, on Sunday, all the ministers will go to the state Congress headquarters at 2 pm where everything will be decided. After the resignation of three Cabinet ministers- Health minister Raghu Sharma, Revenue Minister Harish Choudhry and Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasara- at least nine new entrants could be seen.They have already been given organisational responsibilities.
Harish Chaudhary, MLA from Barmer, has been made the party in-charge for Punjab; he was seen as a key figure in steering the Congress in Punjab through the recent political crisis. Raghu Sharma, MLA from Kekadi in Ajmer, has been made the party in-charge for Gujarat and Govind Singh Dotasara,president of the Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC), said he has resigned from his ministerial post citing the 'Ek Pad Ek Vyakti' discipline of Congress.
The Rajasthan cabinet currently has 21 ministers and there is room for another nine. Gehlot likely to include some of the former BSP MLAs who merged with the Congress in Rajasthan. Half a dozen supporters of Sachin Pilot are likely to be included in the cabinet.
