In a significant effort to contribute to environmental sustainability, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar along with Municipal Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani,led a tree plantation event planting 390 trees. The event, organized by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in collaboration with The Tree Authority, Fit Mumbai and Make Earth Green Again (MEGA) Foundation, saw the initiation of planting of 300 Bahawa trees along the Western Express Highway near Kherwadi.
The initiative is a tribute by Akshay Kumar to his late parents, Hari Om Bhatia and Aruna Bhatia. Joining him will be prominent figures such as Mumbai's Municipal Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani, Deputy Commissioner Vishvas Mote, and Dr. (Hon) Anusha Srinivasan Iyer of the MEGA Foundation. The event underscores the collective effort needed to combat climate change and promote greener urban environments.
This tree plantation drive is part of a larger movement to increase green cover in Mumbai, aligning with similar activities conducted globally to mark significant environmental observances. After the Cyclone Tauktae, *Adopt a fallen Tree pit and be a Guardian of Nature* campaign was implemented with celebrities like Hema Malini, Anil Kapoor, Shatrughan Sinha, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonakshi Sinha, Anupam Kher, Bappi Lahiri, Ajay Devgn with son Yug Devgn, Sonu Nigam, Sangram Singh, Ranvir Shorey and son Haroon Shorey, Rohit Shetty, Ayesha Jhulka among many other participated in similar BMC- MEGA initiatives, highlighting the growing trend of involving public figures in environmental causes.
The choice of Bahawa trees is strategic due to their resilience and ability to thrive in urban settings, thereby ensuring higher survival rates and contributing to the city's biodiversity.
Such noble causes make a tangible impact on the environment. Marathi Filmmakers Gather to Celebrate Aditya Sarpotdar’s Munjya success

In a heartwarming gesture and display of solidarity, prominent directors from the Marathi film industry, now making significant strides in Hindi cinema, came together to celebrate the success of their friend and fellow filmmaker Aditya Sarpotdar’s first Hindi theatrical film, Munjya. Helmed by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, Munjya has become a box office hit, even without any major stars, amassing 103 crores thus far. Additionally, the number of Marathi filmmakers venturing into Hindi cinema is growing each year, reaching an all-time high this year, which was also a reason for celebration at the party.
Directors Ravi Jadhav, Om Raut, Sameer Vidwans, Nipun Dharmadhikari, Laxman Utekar, Rajesh Mapuskar, Avinash Arun, Tejas Deoskar, Jayprad Desai, Nikhil Mahajan, and Dnyanesh Zoting were all in attendance. BB OTT3 contestant Poulomi Das on resilience: Overcoming a breakup and brain hemorrhage

In a heartfelt conversation on Bigg Boss OTT 3, actress Poulomi Das shared her emotional journey through a traumatic breakup and a severe health crisis. Poulomi recalled her breakup with her Italian boyfriend after five years, which led to significant stress and weight gain. Her story took a darker turn as she recounted her brain hemorrhage in 2022, which left her with severe headaches, hallucinations, and a loss of memory.
"I got engaged with someone in 2022. I had a brain hemorrhage after that, so I don’t remember anything that happened just before the hemorrhage. After returning from Italy, I came back to Bombay on October 11, 2022. Shortly after that, I began experiencing severe headaches. Initially, I thought it was due to exhaustion from traveling, but my condition worsened. My brother flew down to Bombay, and we saw a doctor who recommended an MRI. It revealed I had a hemorrhage, and I was hospitalized in Bombay for 25 days. I lost memory of about three months during this period," Poulomi revealed.
She further added, "The breakup was incredibly difficult for me. I struggled with stress and ended up gaining weight due to stress eating. It took me about 5-6 months to recover from it. Throughout this time, my friends and family were a constant support, and my neighbor, Tanuja Aunty, was always there to guide me. Looking back, I realize I made mistakes, but I've grown and learned from the experience."
This revelation moved her housemates, as she detailed the impact on her memory and life, adding emotional pain to her physical recovery. Despite these setbacks, Poulomi’s resilience and determination to continue her career are commendable. Her ability to speak out on Bigg Boss OTT not only brings attention to her personal struggles but also sheds light on broader industry issues. Poulomi’s journey, marked by health challenges and professional obstacles, has only strengthened her resolve, leaving a lasting impact on her fellow contestants and viewers.
