Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake along with Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal participated at a business event in New Delhi on Monday evening that saw the participation of top Indian business leaders.The Sri Lankan leader invited the Indian side to explore opportunities in his island nation in key sectors like IT, tourism and renewable energy.
President Dissanayake highlighted Sri Lanka’s investor-friendly environment and invited them to explore opportunities in key sectors like tourism, IT, and renewable energy. Together, India and Sri Lanka can strengthen economic ties,” he said. Dissanayake met Sanjiv Puri, President, CII and Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General, CII. Piyush Goyal reaffirms India’s commitment to strengthen bilateral relations with Sri Lanka. Minister Piyush Goyal in a post said: “Highlighted the historic and robust economic ties between our nations and reaffirmed India's commitment to strengthening bilateral relations through enhanced economic and cultural exchanges for shared prosperity.”
“There exists huge potential in joint marketing initiatives and also in the development of inbound tourism in India. Lots of opportunities can be explored for collaboration in the education sector by connecting Indian higher education institutions with Sri Lankan counterparts to establish their respective campuses. We believe that an early conclusion of the Economic and Technological Cooperation Agreement between India and Sri Lanka will open new vistas of cooperation,” Sanjiv Puri, President, CII, said at the India-Sri Lanka Business Forum.Piyush Goyal reaffirms India’s commitment to strengthen bilateral relations with Sri Lanka.
