Nexus of Akali-BJP-Amarinder tries to weaken farmers' agitation-Channi

Ministry of Rural Development has reached an important milestone with the completion of Geographical Information System (GIS) plans for two lakh Gram Panchayats out of 2.69 lakh GPs. GIS-based planning under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, is an initiative of the Ministry which helps the Gram Panchayat to ensure a scientific and holistic approach for planning at the Gram Panchayat level. It is an important tool to ensure participatory planning at the implementation level. Rural Development Ministry in a statement said that contributions of Mahatma Gandhi NREGS has enhanced significantly by using the GIS-Based Planning approach and impacts of which is visible at ground level. The development of quality assets at the Gram Panchayat level has been taking place through proper planning and decision-making.

-The National Health Mission, J&K received award for Swasthya Nidhi Survey App in the Health Category at fourth Digital Transformation Awards Summit titled 'Towards Integrated Digital Health Infrastructure' organized by Governance Now. AIR correspondent reports that the project was appreciated at the national-level for leveraging digital approach to track suspicious COVID-19 patients and to take timely action. J&K Mission Director of NHM Yasin Choudhary spoke on various aspects of Ayushman Bharat Digital Health Mission (ABDM) including HMIS, e-Sanjeevani- Telemedicine, RBSK and ASHA applications. While giving details about the project, Choudhary said that Swasthya Nidhi, a Survey App is an integrated health audit and intensive screening framework designed to collect the health data of individuals from households in J&K and to take timely action to track suspicious COVID-19 patients. The data after collection is scanned by medical teams to take requisite action for preventing the spread of the virus. It is a unique initiative of the Government which helped to contain the spread of COVID-19. Under this initiative, various teams were constituted to perform the health audit of the citizens. The teams captured health status of the people which helped to identify the symptomatic people and necessary containment measures were taken by the department.

-Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Friday said that the Centre's decision to repeal all three farm laws is although much delayed, but a welcome step. Channi, however said, had Prime Minister Narendra Modi taken this decision much earlier several precious lives would have been saved. He said that he had himself prevailed upon the Prime Minister to take these laws back during his meeting with him at his office. Channi alleged that the nexus of Akali-BJP and even Captain Amarinder Singh made all out efforts to weaken the farmers' movement. The Chief Minister said that now when the Prime Minister has announced to withdraw these farm laws, he should compensate the farmers adequately for the huge losses of life and property suffered by them. Likewise, he also sought compensation for the state on account of financial and property losses during the Kisan Morcha.  Channi also asked the Prime Minister to immediately announce a financial package to relieve farmers and labourers reeling under the huge burden of debt. He also asked the Centre to make its stand clear on Minimum Support Price and public procurement of farmers’ crops.

-An exhibition of tribal literature and culture was organized at the Adivasi Sanskritik Bhavan in Nandurbar district of Maharashtra as a part of 'Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav' and to mark the occasion of Birsa Munda Jayanti. The exhibition was inaugurated by Project Officer and Assistant Collector Dr. Manak Ghosh. In this exhibition, various items of daily life, weapons, costumes, ornaments, musical instruments used by the tribals from time immemorial, historical and rare materials of daily use were displayed. Bhumi Sena Adivasi Ekta Parishad has organized a grand cultural procession from Palghar Station to Palghar District Collectorate today to mark the 147th Birth Anniversary of great revolutionary Birsa Munda. Traditional tribal Tipri dances and songs were performed at the event.

-Portals of Badrinath temple has been  closed for the winter season Friday. Media in-charge of Devasthanam Board Harish Gaur said that five lakh devotees visited Chardham this year. Portals of Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham have already been closed for the winter season. Closing of portals of Char Dham shrines for the winter break is an annual exercise that takes place around November, when the hills remain snowbound.
