Bullish Rally: Sensex surges 690 Pts, Nifty regains strength above 21,400

The domestic equity benchmark indices ended higher in the volatile session on Wednesday amid buying in index heavyweights.At close,the Sensex was up 689.76 points or 0.98 percent at 71,060.31, and the Nifty was up 215.15 points or 1.01 percent at 21,453.95. About 2373 shares advanced, 1288 shares declined, and 81 shares unchanged.
Stocks and Sectors
Hindalco Industries, Dr Reddy's Laboratories, Tata Steel, Power Grid Corporation and HCL Technologies were the top gainers on the Nifty, while losers included ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Asian Paints, Adani Ports and HDFC Life.
On the sectoral front auto, Information Technology, capital goods, FMCG, metal, oil & gas and power up 1-2 percent.BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices added nearly 2 percent each.
On 24 Jan'24,the Indian rupee opened on a flat note and appreciated 1 paisa to close at 83.14 against the US dollar in the morning session on Wednesday, amid a muted trend in domestic equities. Forex traders said the rupee is trading with a slight negative bias amid selling pressure from foreign investors.

Market experts have recommended eitght stocks to buy or sell for Wednesday- Bajaj Auto, Zydus Life, ELGI Equipments, Chalet Hotels, SBI, BEL, LIC, and HCL Tech.
