Ministry of Road Transport and Highways plans to develop 22 Greenfield Expressways, 23 key infrastructure projects, and 35 Multi-Modal Logistics Parks as part of the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan. Gati Shakti is a digital platform that brings 16 Ministries, including railways and roadways together, for integrated planning and coordinated implementation of infrastructure connectivity projects for industrial clusters and economic nodes. Some of the major Expressways and Corridors which are under construction stage include Delhi - Mumbai Expressway, Ahmedabad Dholera Expressway, Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway, and Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway. Some of the major key infrastructure projects which are under construction stage include the construction of Zojila Tunnel in Ladakh, roads to connect Krishnapatnam Port in Andhra Pradesh, and two-laning of Lalpul-Manmao changing road in Arunachal Pradesh
-The 4th India-Australia Energy Dialogue was held on Tuesday. The dialogue was co-chaired by Power Minister RK Singh and Australian Energy and Emissions Reduction Minister Angus Taylor. During the dialogue, the discussion was held on various topics including energy transition, renewable energy, energy efficiency, storage, electronic vehicles, and critical minerals. India has stressed Climate Finance to meet the energy transition's goals. A letter of intent between both the countries on New and Renewable Energy Technology was signed during the Dialogue. This will pave the way for working towards reducing the cost of new and renewable energy technologies.
-Maharashtra government has decided to increase the educational loan limit under the educational loan scheme of Maulana Azad Minority Economic Development Corporation for more than one student from the same family. State Minority Development Minister Nawab Malik informed that now more than one student from the same family can take an educational loan of up to Rs 7 lakh 50 thousand under the scheme. He informed that the state government has now increased the share capital of Maulana Azad Minority Economic Development Corporation to Rs 700 crore. Therefore, he said that sufficient funds are being made available for various loan schemes being implemented by the Maulana Azad Minority Economic Development Corporation.
-In Tripura, Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal on Tuesday announced Rs 25 Crore for dredging in the river Gomati for setting up altogether 10 jetties for better inland waterways connectivity. The Union Minister said these new initiatives will boost international transportation between India and Bangladesh in the form of cargo vessels, passenger vessels, and river cruise movement between the neighboring countries. Apart from that, the Union Minister who also holds the AYUSH ministry said that a total of 50 Health and Wellness Centers have been sanctioned and a 50 bedded integrated AYUSH hospital would be also opened here in Tripura. Earlier, the Union Minister addressed a public meeting at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan on the Budget 2022-23 and addressed a press conference at BJP state headquarters. In both the events, Sonowal highlighted how PM Modi laid special emphasis on the long-neglected North Eastern region and accorded respect to each and every North Eastern.
-The Mindtree cofounders and philanthropists Subroto Bagchi and N S Parthasarathy will donate 425 crore rupees to the Indian Institute of Science in Bengaluru to build a PG medical college and 800-bed multi-specialty hospital. In a statement issued by the Director of IISc Govindan Rangarajan, the postgraduate medical college and hospital on the campus will integrate MD and Ph.D. programmes to nurture a new breed of physician-scientists. The students will be trained simultaneously in the hospital and also in the science and engineering labs of the research Institute. The proposed Bagchi-Parthasarathy Hospital will be a non-profit, multi-specialty hospital with several specialties such as nephrology, urology, dermatology and plastic surgery, organ transplant, robotic surgery, and ophthalmology. The IISc director said that the 425 crore rupees donation is the largest single private donation ever received by IISc.
