White House says Trump-Modi trade talks continue

US President Donald Trump often speaks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and trade teams from both countries continue to hold serious discussions, the White House said on Tuesday. “I know the President has great respect for Prime Minister Modi, and they speak pretty frequently,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters when asked about the state of the US-India relationship.Leavitt said both sides remain in very serious discussions on trade and economic cooperation — a sign that negotiations between the two countries continue to move forward.Mentioning the recent talks between Trump and PM Modi during the Diwali celebrations at the Oval Office, Leavitt said that the US has a great US ambassador to India in Sergio Gore, who will represent their country "very well.”

She alleged that Americans are paying the price for Democrats’ sick political games as air travel grinds to a halt amid the Democrat-driven chaos. With their reckless 35-day government shutdown, the Democrats are intentionally hurting American families, workers, and businesses to fight for free healthcare for illegal aliens and to appease their radical left-wing base – it’s a total disgrace, she said.

Meanwhile, Karoline Leavitt also called out New York mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani for his allegation of voter intimidation by Trump. In the briefing, she called the allegations "completely irresponsible and based on zero evidence. She also said that these allegations are another example of how the Democrat party unfortunately stands for nothing.
