Putin was ceremonially received at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan ahead of his talks with Prime Minister Modi, underscoring the importance New Delhi places on its long-standing strategic partnership with Moscow.Several key dignitaries attended the ceremony, including External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, Delhi Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena, and Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan. The Guard of Honour and ceremonial proceedings underscored the long-standing strategic importance of India-Russia ties.
Putin Pays Tribute at Rajghat
Earlier in the day, the Russian President visited Rajghat, where he paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi. Laying a wreath at the memorial, Putin observed a moment of silence to honour Gandhi’s enduring legacy of peace, moral courage, and non-violence.Following the tribute, Putin penned a heartfelt message in the visitors’ book, acknowledging Gandhi as “one of the key founders of modern India” and a visionary whose ideas continue to resonate across the world. He wrote that Gandhi’s views on freedom, compassion, and service remain deeply relevant and continue to guide societies globally.

Putin also reflected on Gandhi’s correspondence with L.
