Pak Army chief Munir makes nuke threat against India in US

Pakistani military chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, during his recent visit to the United States, has threatened that Islamabad would take down "half the world" with it, if his country faces an existential threat in future with India. At a black-tie dinner in Tampa hosted by businessman and honorary consul Adnan Asad, Munir told attendees, "We are a nuclear nation. If we think we are going down, we’ll take half the world down with us." Munir took aim at India over control of the Indus River. "We will wait for India to build a dam, and when it does so, we will destroy it with ten missiles," he said, adding, "The Indus river is not the Indians’ family property... We have no shortage of missiles, Alhumdulillah," Munir said, citing sources.  The news outlet reported the speech from the memory of many participants present at the event. "We'll start from India's East, where they have located their most valuable resources, and then move westwards," Munir was quoted as saying by The Print.

According to Pakistan’s Dunya News, Munir also claimed that "India seeks to present itself as a world leader, but in reality, it is far from it." He reportedly referred to the killing of a Sikh leader in Canada, the arrest of eight Indian naval officers in Qatar, and the Kulbhushan Jadhav case -- claiming these incidents serve as "irrefutable evidence" of India’s alleged involvement in terrorism internationally.General Asim Munir reportedly said at a Pakistani community event in Tampa, Florida, "India is shining a Mercedes coming on a highway like Ferrari, but we are a dump truck full of gravel. If the truck hits the car, who is going to be the loser?"

Those invited to the black-tie dinner were reportedly not allowed to carry mobile phones or any other digital devices, and no text of the speech was provided. The news outlet reported the speech from the memory of many participants present at the event. Field Marshal Asim Munir was in Tampa to attend the Retirement Ceremony of the outgoing US Central Command (CENTCOM) Commander General Michael E. Kurilla, and the Change of Command Ceremony, marking the assumption of the role by Admiral Brad Cooper.
