India is a great country with good friend of mine at top, says Trump

US President Donald Trump on Monday praised India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi without naming him, saying “India is a great country with a good friend of mine at the top”. Trump, addressing a summit of world leaders at this Egyptian city after a ceasefire reached in Gaza ending the Israel-Hamas war, said from the podium that he thinks “India and Pakistan will live very nicely together”.

Trump, co-hosting the Gaza Peace Summit in Sharm el-Sheikh alongside Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.The US President signed a landmark document along with global leaders formalising the Gaza ceasefire agreement during a global peace summit in Egypt’s Sharm El-Sheikh. The summit, attended by leaders from across the Arab and Muslim world, marked what Trump called as a "new and beautiful day" for the Middle East following two years of devastating conflict between Israel and Hamas. 
At the Gaza Peace Summit, US President Donald Trump says, "This is a monumental moment in the history of the world beyond the Middle East. We have all agreed that supporting Gaza must be done to lift up the people themselves. But we don't want to fund anything having to do with the bloodshed, hatred or terror as has happened in the past. We have also agreed that Gaza's reconstruction requires that it be demilitarised and that a new honest civilian police force must be allowed to create a safe condition for the people in Gaza. I intend to be a partner in securing a better future...There won't be World War III, hopefully. But it's not going to start in the Middle East. We're not going to have a World War III."

India marked its own presence at the summit through Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh, the first Indian minister to officially meet Trump since Operation Sindoor. He attended as Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s special envoy.
