Axiom-4 splash down off California coast on July 15

Indian Astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla and the Axiom-4 Mission crew are set to return on Monday, July 14, with undocking scheduled for 4:30 PM IST. Their arrival back to Earth is expected with a splashdown on July 15 at 3:00 PM IST. The update was shared by Union MoS for Science & Technology and Space, Jitendra Singh, in a post on X. He also mentioned that these timings have a margin of approximately one hour. Ahead of the undocking, a farewell ceremony for the four astronauts will be held on July 13, 7:25 PM IST, as informed by Axiom.

On Saturday, NASA listed the schedule for its live coverage of the return. It had noted that undocking is expected to begin at 7.05 am ET (4.35 pm IST) on Monday, but made no mention of an approximate splashdown time. The timeline is still subject to change based on real-time operations.After landing, Shukla, along with other crew members, will undergo a rehabilitation programme (about seven days) under the supervision of the Flight Surgeons to adapt back to Earth’s gravity.
