Women should fuel the engine for achieving Viksit Bharat goal: VP

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has said that a Viksit Bharat can be attained only when every citizen in India has been empowered. Delivering his speech at the third Conference of the Deaf-blind Advocacy and Employment in Chennai on Friday, he appreciated those who are working in the field of empowering the differently abled. He said that they have been contributing significantly to the growth of the country by being compassionate towards them. The Vice President mentioned that they have enormous untapped potential, which needs to be harnessed for the development of the nation. He also stated that those who are training the differently abled should be appreciated and deserving of the greatest respect.

He emphasised that the prime minister has a vision to involve them in governance and to frame policies that allow them to realise their potential so that they can be actively involved in nation-building. Talking about women empowerment, Dhankhar said, “Education alone can empower but for women, it is more important because they are quick to learn, they are quick to skill, they are quick to adopt and what they learn is easily accessible, largely.”
