UP extends key welfare schemes to triple talaq & acid attack survivors

The Uttar Pradesh government will provide benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, and Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana to women affected from Triple Talaq and acid attacks. Preparations have also begun to extend the benefits of all these schemes to destitute women.
On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Women Welfare Department has initiated action at the departmental level. The department is collecting detailed data of women affected by Triple Talaq and acid attacks, along with destitute women, so that eligible beneficiaries can be given the benefits of these schemes on a priority basis. The process of preparing the necessary guidelines and Government Order at the government level is also underway. The Women Welfare Department is collecting verified details of the affected women.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had instructed officials in a high-level meeting that women who have faced situations such as Triple Talaq or acid attacks and do not have permanent housing should be provided a permanent house under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana or the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana.
